OHIO FARM BUREAU FEDERATION AND NATIONWIDE INSURANCE SPONSOR FFA CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS

Members of the Pymatuning Valley FFA chapter were part of over 70 FFA members and advisors who recently attended Ohio FFA Leadership Camp held in Carrollton, Ohio at FFA Camp Muskingum.

The FFA members were able to attend camp through a scholarship sponsored by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, Inc. and the Nationwide Insurance, both of Columbus. The two organizations have been sponsors of the Ohio FFA for 49 consecutive
years.

Scholarship recipients in this area include: Bo Shreves, Kayla Shreves, Anthony Montello, Tyler Brown, Emilee Tucker, Trishia
Lautanen, Tyler Gruskiewicz, Erin Smolinskie and Kendell Flemming.

On hand to present the scholarships were Jeremy Grove, President of the
Ohio FFA Association, Steve Fino, Director- Office of Sponsor Relations for Nationwide Insurance, and Michelle
Specht, Organization Director for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. While at camp the FFA members took part in leadership training session which were conducted by National
FFA Leadership Development. In addition to learning about leadership
qualities, the campers participated in the camps Living
History Program which is a reenactment of the Underground Railroad.

The FFA is a national youth organization for students of agricultural
eduction. Activities in the FFA give students the opportunity to
explore agricultural careers and develop leadership qualities. There
are currently nearly 24,000 FFA members in Ohio and learly 500,000
members across the nation.
